Cold and flu season is upon us. And apparently this year is supposed to be a bad one. I feel like the CDC says this every year, and every year it ends up not being so bad. I've had the flu (like actual influenza virus, not some 24 hour stomach bug) twice in my life. Once in 2000 and once in 2016. I never want it again. But I also never want a flu shot.
I'm not against all vaccines. Some can be helpful. The flu shot, however, in my opinion isn't very helpful. In fact, I think it can be more harmful to sensitive individuals. So I'm against this particular vaccine, since I view it as unnecessary. I probably just jinxed myself into getting the flu. But at least I have a strong immune system that can help me fight it if I do end up getting it. You can have a stronger immune system too!
You know those turmeric ginger shots that you see in health food stores? They're full of good stuff to boost your immunity. But they're so expensive for such a little bottle. Why not make your own?
I call it nature's flu shot. It can be made with simple ingredients for a fraction of the price of those tiny little shot bottles. You'll want to stock up on these ingredients and make this at the first sign of a cold or the flu.
3 lemons, juiced
1/2 tsp finely grated fresh ginger
1 clove garlic, finely minced
1/4 tsp. turmeric powder
1/8 tsp. cayenne
1/8 tsp. sea salt
1 Tbsp. raw honey
1 1/2 cups pineapple juice
Mix all of the ingredients together in a large pitcher.
Drink 1/2 cup 3x each day at the onset of flu symptoms
You can also supplement with liposomal vitamin C and zinc to boost your immune system before it's too late.
These things are much better than a flu shot, which contains nasty ingredients like formaldehyde, mercury, egg protein, aluminum, and MSG. I don't know about you, but I'd rather not put those things into my body if I can help it. Stay healthy this season. You can do it without the flu shot.
