It's National Strawberry Month!

It's strawberry season! Did you know that May is National Strawberry Month? This delicious berry gets an entire month, not just a day. That's saying something for how much Americans love this fruit.

Strawberries pack a mighty nutritional punch. They're a great source of vitamin C, folate, potassium, manganese, fiber and heart-healthy antioxidants. My one qualm with strawberries is that they are heavily contaminated with pesticides. They almost always end up as one of the top 3 most contaminated fruits and vegetables on the Dirty Dozen list that the Environmental Working Group releases each year. They're number one in 2020. So if you choose to indulge in this delicious, nutrient-packed fruit, always opt for organic.

I've gathered some delicious strawberry recipes for you from some of my favorite recipe bloggers. I hope you find one you love so that you too can enjoy and celebrate National Strawberry Month.
