Fortify your immune system and boost your energy with this simple homemade switchel recipe. What is switchel, you ask? Switchel is an apple cider vinegar drink sweetened with honey and flavored with lemon and ginger. It's also sometimes called "Haymaker's Punch".

Ingredients:

  • 3 cups sparkling mineral water

  • 1 cup water

  • 1 5"-piece of fresh ginger

  • 1/2 cup apple cider vinegar

  • 1 tbsp raw honey

  • Juice of half a lemon

  • Lemon slices (for garnish)

  • Fresh mint (for garnish)

Directions:

  • Boil the ginger in the one cup of water. Then add the honey and stir until mixed. Set aside to cool.

  • Place the 3 cups of sparkling mineral water in a pitcher with the apple cider vinegar and lemon juice.

  • Once the ginger and honey mixture has cooled down, add it to the pitcher and mix well.

  • Divide into glasses and garnish with lemon slices and mint.
