The Benefits of Garlic + A Recipe Roundup

Garlic is a great flavor enhancer if you're able to tolerate it. It has numerous reported health benefits as well. Some people prefer to eat it raw, and claim raw garlic has even more health-boosting benefits. However you decide to enjoy it, know that garlic has amazing healing properties for those who don't show a sensitivity to it. Unfortunately, garlic is one of those foods on the MRT food sensitivity panel that I see as a common trigger food. But if you know you can enjoy it without triggering a mediated release, go for it.

Garlic is incredibly nutritious. In just one clove you'll find vitamin C, selenium, vitamin B6, manganese, and fiber. Plus, garlic has very few calories. Some studies show that it is able to boost the immune system, making it easier for you to overcome illnesses like the common cold or the flu, or possibly even Coronavirus. This is especially true when you consume it raw. Some studies also show that garlic can be cardio-protective. It has the ability to reduce blood pressure and lower bad cholesterol in high doses. Garlic contains antioxidants that may help prevent cognitive decline. Plus it can help with anti-aging and may promote a longer health span. Some researchers have even concluded that garlic may be able to help the body rid itself of harmful heavy metals.

So if you enjoy garlic and can tolerate it well, eat up. I know there's a stigma with its side effect on your breath. And yeah, that can sometimes be a turn off. But don't let that stop you from enjoying this beneficial flavor enhancer.

I've rounded up some of my favorite garlic recipes from around the internet to help you enjoy all the wonderful flavor and benefits of garlic. Enjoy!
